Marcello di Luna
Marcello di Luna is the lo-fi indie folk project of Swiss singer-songwriter and producer Martial Chanton. Raised in the mountain town of Zermatt, he writes songs built on straightforward arrangements and a bold, expressive voice. With leading guitar licks and repetitive melodies he blends lofi indie folk with pop and rock. After nearly a decade as a member of the band Wintershome, he developed into a seasoned and versatile musician, who now embarks on his solo journey.
Growing up in the scenic ski resort, Martial discovered the power of music early on—his father blasting records in the car or while cooking, with albums like The Doors (1967), Bruce Springsteen’s Tracks (1998), and Jean-Michel Jarre’s Oxygène (1976) scattered around the house.
As a teenager, he immersed himself fully in music, exploring genres without boundaries. Together with friends, he took over an old storage garage and turned it into a makeshift rehearsal room. Almost every evening after work, they met there to jam, smoke, and disappear into the comfort of friendship.
After completing a three-year commercial apprenticeship, Martial moved to London to study bass performance, graduating in 2017. During this time, the Zermatt-based band Wintershome invited him to join them as a session bassist for the recording of their debut album in Seattle. Produced by Ryan Hadlock (The Lumineers, Zach Bryan, Vance Joy) at the legendary Bear Creek Studios. The collaboration quickly grew into something more. Martial became a full member of the band and toured extensively. The second album was recorded in London with Producer Brett Shaw (Florence + the Machine, Foals).
They performed on major stages such as Montreux Jazz Festival, Zurich Open Air, Gurtenfestival or Opebn Air Gampel, just to name a few. With hundreds of concerts and numerous international radio and television appearances, Martial knows how important branding and working with people you like really is.
Marcello di Luna released his self-titled debut EP in October 2024, followed by the single Can’t Get My Eyes Off You. In the summer of 2025, he released three singles announcing his debut album Going Out Tonight, which arrived on September 12, 2025. With 2026 on the horizon, Marcello di Luna is set to release a wave of new music and finally bring his songs to the stage, beginning with a solo performance at Zermatt Unplugged.
